First African-American woman CEO at private hospital in New York City honored

The Coalition to Transform Interfaith introduced and welcomed LaRay Brown, the newly appointed CEO for Interfaith Medical Center.

Brown is the first African-American woman to become the CEO of a private hospital in New York City. The event will also commemorate the successful contributions of women health care workers who fought to save Interfaith Medical Center from closure.

The breakfast celebrated those who secured the victory and served as a day of recommitment to the transformation of Interfaith. Speakers at the event included Public Advocate Letitia James, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, New York City Council Member Robert Cornegy and leadership from NYSNA and 1199SEIU.
