JULIANE OKOT BITEK – Author
Juliane Okot Bitek was born in Kenya and raised in Uganda. She wrote 100 poems for 100 days in response to the 20th anniversary of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. The writer takes cues from the experience her family went through as a result of the devastating massacre. Okot Bitek’s use of traditional poetic methods punctuates her writing.
