“I wanted to do something to really highlight the culinary community from the African diaspora,” said Warren Luckett, the founder of Black Restaurant Week, LLC.
The week from June 11-17 features signature events and special menus at participating eateries, including Booker’s Restaurant and Bar, Bistro 870 Restaurant and Lounge, Dahlak, Haute Restaurant, Star Fusion, Tasties, Just To Serve You, Too, Azzaam’s Soul and Grill and Rose Petals Café and Lounge.
The organizers of Black Restaurant Week seek to stimulate local economies and promote awareness of minority-owned businesses.
