A Bronx state lawmaker who used to work as a nurse has ditched her business attire for a pair of scrubs to join healthcare workers on the frontlines of the coronavirus battle.
“When you become a nurse you take an oath to help people. How can I not help at a time like this?” Assemblywoman Karines Reyes, 36, told The Post Tuesday afternoon.
The Bronx pol hasn’t been in scrubs since January 2019, when she was elected to represent District 87. But when some of her old nursing buddies at Montefiore Medical Center called to tell her how desperate they were, she knew she had to help.
